The Overbury Resort in Thetis Island was one of my all time favourite resorts on the westcoast that I have visited in the past few years. The lush gardens, impeccable cleaniness, the view, and most important the hardest working & nicest family of all time run the resort! My time there was amazing. This was one of my favourite destination weddings as the space I got to work in showcased the design that much better! Kate had impeccable taste and her only request was the design was to be shibori inspired and a westcoast elegant feel. The design stayed true to the shibori feel, with touches of gold throughout using the simplicity of the gold rimmed glass boxes, the gold horse table numbers symbolizing her love of horses, accenting with blush and raspberry flowers! I had so much fun with these shibori dyed custom table runners and keeping this design fluid throughout with the stationary, table design and dessert table. Studio 745 won the stationary award at the Vancouver Island wedding awards for this paper suite indigo shibori inspired watercolour! So well deserved! Another bonus of my trip was working alongside my sidekick, my daughter whom is a serious workhorse for a 10 year old , we had soo much fine (outside of the work space course)!as well as working with the talented Meghan from Sweet Heirloom Photography. Not only are her photo skills amazing, but she is HILARIOUS! I’m counting down the days until I get another wedding with her! Well enjoy, and hope that If you haven’t gone to this resort yet, you NEED TOO! Enjoy Kate & Randall’s beautiful westcoast destination wedding!
